The Garde Pile is in the small village of Mervilla, 15 minutes south of Toulouse. It is located next to the old village church on the edge of a cereal-producing agricultural domain. From the cottage, there are superb clear views of the rolling Lauragais hills and the Pyrennes. The cottage is a stones-throw away from the GR653 footpath, popular with ramblers and close to many other marked footpaths in Mervilla and the neighbouring villages.
 

The center of Toulouse is only 8 miles away. Toulouse is the fastest growing large town in France. It is a popular student town renowned for its Occitan heritage and culture as well as its thriving industry. It is home to Airbus, large aeronautical and pharmaceutical industries.
The A61, A64 and the Toulouse ring-road (‘rocade’) are all close-by. The Toulouse International Airport at Blagnac is a 20-minute drive away. The Toulouse metro station (Ramonville line B) is 10 minutes away.
Please note that although the cottage is close to a bus line, a car is recommended.
